When diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2019, my mum was one of the healthiest 56-year-olds you could imagine.
I felt alone with my new daily challenges, I did not know anyone else my age with cancer or an ileostomy bag.
I was bloated, nauseous and didn’t feel well for a few months, but I put that down to the possibility of being pregnant.
I was so scared and devastated with the diagnosis that it took me months before I could even say out loud that I had cancer.
