Helpline

The Support and Information Helpline is available 9am – 5pm (AEST/AEDT) for the cost of a local call and is staffed by our ovarian cancer nurses

Call 1300 660 334 to speak with an ovarian cancer nurse. It is a direct telephone and email connection for people impacted by ovarian cancer, their partners, family and friends to the support team at Ovarian Cancer Australia and it is a source of support, onward referral, information and connection.

If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, you can contact us on our helpline 1300 660 334 and speak to one of our ovarian cancer support nurses who can assess your situation and suggest which programs and/or services might be suitable to your individual needs.

It is also a means for the general public who have concerns about symptoms or testing to have these explained.

You can also get in touch by emailing us at support@ovariancancer.net.au and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

How can we help?

As a non-profit organisation, Ovarian Cancer Australia can:

  • Discuss the main signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer and provide recommendations of what to discuss with your GP

  • Share with you the suite of OCA coordinated support programs and services for consideration including our Resilience Kit for newly diagnosed women, face-face-support groups in Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia and the national tele-support group

  • Provide non-medical referrals to the support programs and services offered by other cancer support organisations in your respective State

  • Provide information on where to seek support of a financial, emotional or psychological nature

  • Be that person who will listen and allow you to work through the various challenges as they arise.

However please note, we are unable to:

  • Provide an ovarian cancer diagnosis or suggest a particular treatment plan in isolation or direct contradiction to the recommendations suggested by your specialist

  • Issue medical referrals or be seen to favour a particular oncology specialist over another

  • Endorse products and/or services that require membership, come at a cost or require significant personal investment with potentially serious implications (ie alternative therapies, genetic testing)

  • Provide direct financial assistance
