Jill Emberson recognised in 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours List

Jill Emberson was this week recognised posthumously in the Queen’s Birthday honours list with an Order of Australia.

As well as her contribution to broadcasting, Jill was recognised for her advocacy for ovarian cancer research and treatment.

Her podcast ‘Still Jill’ and her advocacy work, including Pink Meets Teal, which she founded to build a broad army of advocates for ovarian cancer, helped increase awareness of ovarian cancer throughout Australia.

Ovarian Cancer Director of Marketing and Communications, Josy Shaw said Jill had "quite possibly the greatest impact we've ever seen at Ovarian Cancer Australia.”

We are proud to have worked with Jill at our annual parliamentary breakfast events, where she was instrumental in securing much needed funding for ovarian cancer. Her positive impact and momentum will continue for years to come and her advocacy and action has given so many women impacted by ovarian cancer hope for the future.
