Our staff members are passionate about driving change for women affected by ovarian cancer and dedicated to achieving our vision of ensuring no woman with ovarian cancer walks alone.

Associate Professor Anna Boltong, CEO

Associate Professor Anna Boltong is a global leader in cancer control. She has come to Ovarian Cancer Australia from the role of Head of the Cancer Control Strategy at Cancer Australia.

Anna has a strong track record of collaborative transformation, capacity building and innovation in both the cancer sector and in public health more broadly. Anna's rich and diverse experience encompasses clinical practice, education, service management, administration, strategic planning, policy development, at the executive level.

A health promotion specialist and dietitian by training, Anna's background spans domestic and international leadership in clinical oncology, supportive care research, policy development, health inequalities and education.

Anna was previously the Head of Strategy and Support at Cancer Council Victoria, where she introduced innovations to empower patients and clinicians through credible and compassionate cancer information and support.

As the Deputy CEO at the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre Alliance, Anna worked with sector stakeholders and the Victorian government to lead a successful future strategy and business case, securing over $30M for cancer control initiatives for the 2020-2025 period.

At Cancer Australia, Anna played a pivotal role in the development of the Australian Cancer Plan, and led the Optimal Care and Indigenous Cancer Control portfolios as well as the establishment of the Australian Comprehensive Cancer Network.

Anna looks forward to building upon OCA's tireless advocacy, ensuring no woman with ovarian cancer walks alone.  

Anna dedicates her work to her hardworking father Ted, and her dear friend Ainhoa who continues her own ovarian cancer journey.
