Clinical Trials Resource Hub
Welcome to our online clinical trials resource
We developed this resource as part of our commitment and ongoing effort to help everyone with ovarian cancer understand clinical trials better and find the right trials for them.
We know there’s a lot of information here, and you may not want to read it all at once. You may be someone who wants to get every detail or maybe you just prefer to take it at a slower pace and read one section at a time.
Feel free to explore the sections that may be helpful for you, depending on where you are at with your cancer and its treatment. You can always come back later if you want to learn more – there’s no need to rush.
Not all resources will be helpful to everyone, and that’s okay. Your needs for information will change at different points during your diagnosis, treatment and recovery. We strongly advise you to take your time and focus on what feels right for you in the moment.
We have provided bullet point lists at the beginning of each section that you can click on to go to certain information.
Overview
Clinical trials can offer important treatment options for women with ovarian cancer. They can provide options for people when standard treatments no longer work or to help improve their quality of life (QoL).
We also know it can be challenging to:
know which clinical trials are underway
access information about clinical trials
know how to join a clinical trial.
2024 Study of Australians with Ovarian Cancer
In 2024, Ovarian Cancer Australia and Curtin University in Western Australia led a project to identify clinical trials awareness among Australians with ovarian cancer. The goal was to explore:
awareness of clinical trials
how people access clinical trials information
what factors affect participation in clinical trials.
This study involved focus groups and interviews with 16 Australian women with ovarian cancer which was followed by a survey completed by 272 people. You'll see quotes throughout this site from people who joined in the study. They demonstrate how important it is to raise awareness about ovarian cancer clinical trials and to make it easier to find information.
The study is titled If you'd like to learn more about this study, you can find it here.
