Support events

Ovarian Cancer Australia hold information sessions across Australia for women, their family & friends affected by ovarian cancer.

These events provide participants access to the specialised knowledge of ovarian cancer industry experts in the form of presentations and a question and answer session.

Upcoming events

New Support Groups in 2023

We will be introducing a new support group for carers, family and friends. Please stay tuned for more updates.

Please note all support groups are still running, but some face to face groups are meeting online until further notice due to COVID-19.

Melbourne: August 10th at 10:30 am

Western Australia: August 10th at 10 am

Sydney: August 14th at 2 pm

Queensland: August 2nd at 10 am

South Australia: August 1st at 10:30 am

Tele Support Group

Ovarian Cancer Australia holds monthly national Tele-Support phone groups and is available for all women who have been touched by ovarian cancer. The tele support group is held on the third Monday of each month.

Younger Women's Network

The OCA Younger Women’s Project is a series of 12 online facilitated support and information sessions, delivered monthly for 1.5 hours with approximately 5 – 8 women participating in each session with a health professional facilitator.

Male Partners Program

The Male Partners Program is a new development of Ovarian Cancer Australia and has resulted from emerging research undertaken by OCA and Monash University that identified unmet needs for male partners of women who have ovarian cancer. Proudly supported by Dry July Foundation, this support program is here to support male partners of women with ovarian cancer. Online monthly support sessions for men continue throughout the year on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.

Webinars

We deliver free webinars throughout the year to educate, inform and support women living with ovarian cancer and their families. We also keep past webinar recordings as an online educational resource.

Teal Support Program

The Teal Support Program supports women with ovarian cancer throughout their diagnosis, treatment and beyond. The program provides continuity of care and focuses on areas where there are unmet needs.

Private Facebook Support Group

This group aims to provide a friendly and supportive space for women with an ovarian cancer diagnosis to connect with each other, gather information and ask questions.

Support newsletter

This is OCA’s bi-monthly newsletter for those impacted by ovarian cancer, to help remain up-to-date with information, research and support being offered to women with ovarian cancer, their families and friends.

Support Groups

Many people find meeting with others in a similar situation helps them realise their responses are ‘normal’ and that other people are going through similar experiences. Attending support groups can also be a good opportunity to learn more about your own situation and strategies for dealing with the challenging times.
