Clinical Trials
image description
A clinical trial is a carefully designed research study that involves people. Each study has a specific aim, which may include finding better ways to prevent, diagnose, or treat ovarian cancer — or to find ways of improving a woman’s quality of life during and after treatment. Learn more

Ovarian Cancer Australia provides support, awareness and advocacy for women with ovarian cancer and their families and friends. In July 2011 Ovarian Cancer Australia launched the first ever national research program for ovarian cancer focussed on early detection, diagnosis and treatment.

Ovarian Cancer Australia’s new research program is unique in Australia in that it will be open to any research group, including research institutes, hospitals, universities, and government agencies across the country; the process will be completely transparent with all funding applications peer reviewed by an international committee of the world’s leading ovarian cancer experts; and we will consult with government, research and medical stakeholders to determine priorities for funding and ensure they are aligned with current patient needs. We anticipate that applications will open in April 2012, with the first grant awarded in November 2012. We will soon provide details of the application process.

Part of our role is also to provide information about ovarian cancer research and research groups in Australia and clinical trials available for women with ovarian cancer.

There are many organisations in Australia and internationally that are dedicated to learning more about ovarian cancer — including risk factors, early detection, treatment, quality of life and improving our general understanding of the disease.

These pages will help you to quickly and easily access the most current ovarian cancer research information.
