Each year in February Ovarian Cancer Australia runs a national Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month campaign to highlight the symptoms of ovarian cancer and to raise funds for our programs.
About us
Simon Lee
Founding Director
Simon's late wife, Sheila Lee, was the driving force of the ovarian cancer awareness movement in Australia. Simon worked closely with Sheila for nearly two years as she battled her own disease and was determined to make sure that other women could avoid her fate. After Sheila's death in November 2000, Simon continued the awareness campaigning and lobbying for more investment in ovarian cancer research and helped set up Ovarian Cancer Australia as a national charity with a consumer focus.
Simon also undertakes roles as a consumer advocate and represents ovarian cancer patients on the Commonwealth funded Ovarian Cancer Program.
