Each year in February Ovarian Cancer Australia runs a national Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month campaign to highlight the symptoms of ovarian cancer and to raise funds for our programs.

Paula Benson
Chair
Paula is a leading Corporate Affairs professional and Non Executive Director with more than fifteen years experience in large Media, Service and Resource sector organisations. She has extensive knowledge of government relations, community and stakeholder engagement, communications and issues management.
Paula is currently the General Manager Corporate Responsibility at National Australia Bank and has held senior roles in business and the media including: General Manager Corporate Affairs at Alcoa of Australia (2006 – 2009); Manager Corporate Affairs, Alcoa of Australia (2003 – 2005); Manager Public Affairs, RMIT University (2000 – 2002) and Producer, A Current Affair, Channel 9 (1996 – 2000).
Paula is Chair of Ovarian Cancer Australia and a former Director of the Port of Melbourne Corporation, Port of Hastings Corporation, the Royal Women’s Hospital Foundation and Regional Arts Victoria.
Paula has also managed her own consulting business and provided strategic advice to corporations, small business and NFPs on Government Relations, Corporate Communications, Community & Stakeholder Engagement, CSR & Issues Management.
Paula holds a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Technology, Sydney and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New South Wales.
Paula is married to Senator Stephen Conroy and they have a daughter, Isabella.
